CO2 handgun used in robbery leads to teen's arrest

Victim approached by group of males, say police.

REGINA – A 14-year-old boy is facing charges after a robbery investigation over the weekend.

On March 17, at around 9:40 p.m., police were called to the 4500 block of Gordon Road for a reported robbery.

"The victim had contacted the police to report he had been approached by a group of males and one of them had a firearm," said RPS in a media release. "The male with the firearm demanded the victim’s wallet."

The victim was not harmed, and police were able to find the suspect, arresting him without incident and recovering a CO2 handgun.

The teen - who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act - is charged with armed robbery with a firearm and failure to comply with a condition of a release order.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on this matter on March 20.
