REGINA – A Regina man charged with multiple weapons offences will be waiting a couple more weeks before his case proceeds.
Kolton Wayne Barr is the accused in a number of weapons offences, stemming from two incidents occurring in the city.
Back in January, Barr had allegedly waved a knife before a taxi driver that brought Barr to his destination. This resulted in charges of fraudulently obtaining transportation, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Earlier this month, Barr gained more weapons charges after a routine traffic stop. Police observed ammunition in plain view (which Barr was prohibited from possessing), and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a knife and firearm. Barr was arrested and charged with two counts possession of firearms/ammunition contrary to a prohibition order; and single charges unauthorized possession of a firearm, failure to comply with a condition of a release order, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Appearing in Regina Provincial Court this morning on the nine charges - plus one of failure to attend court, Barr's matters were ultimately adjourned until June 12 to seek council.
