Five arrested by P. A. Police Crime Reduction team back in court

Prince Albert Police Service Crime Reduction Team seized drugs, cash and weapons following a cocaine trafficking investigation.

PRINCE ALBERT – Five Ontario men arrested by the Prince Albert Police Service Crime Reduction Team in a drug bust have been released on bail.

Ibrahim Faisal Ahmed, Abdullahi Dirie, Abdullahi Hussein Elmi, Adbiaziz Abukar Mohamud, and El Faough Salih, are scheduled back in Prince Albert Provincial Court April 24. Their last appearance was on March 27.

They were arrested on Feb. 1 after police wrapped up a cocaine trafficking investigation and executed search warrants at a business in the 2600 block of 2nd Avenue West and a home in the 600 block of 7th Street East.

During the searches, police seized two loaded handguns, $15,485 cash, and 548 grams of cocaine.

Ahmed, Dirie, Elmi, Mohamud, and Salih are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime, and multiple firearms offences.
