SPIRITWOOD – A preliminary hearing for a 19-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a child under 10 is scheduled for June 25 in Spiritwood court.

North Battleford Provincial Court told SASKTODAY.ca in an email on March 8 that all charges were withdrawn against the accused. They didn't answer the question if there was a replacement charge. Nor did they inform SASKTODAY.ca that there was a replacement charge.

On March 14, the communications office for Saskatchewan Justice Services in Regina informed SASKTODAY.ca that the court information was replaced with a new information on the charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.

The man was arrested in November 2023 after Spiritwood RCMP received a report on Nov. 6, 2023, of a sexual assault of a child.
