Man accused of killing his mother appears in P. A. court

PRINCE ALBERT – A man accused of killing his mother made his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday.

Everett Constant, 29, was remanded in custody and is back in court May 22. He is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 51-year-old Beverly Constant.

On May 3, at about 1:17 p.m. Prince Albert Police Service had responded to a home in the Unit Block of 28th Street West to help Parkland Ambulance take Everett Constant to Victoria Hospital.

Later that day, he assaulted hospital staff. When he was medically cleared, he was arrested and held overnight at Prince Albert Police Service cells.

The next day, at about 10 a.m. he was released from police custody to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on May 30 on the assault charges against hospital staff.

About four hours later, police responded to the same home for a family dispute. Beverly Constant was pronounced deceased at the scene and Everett Constant was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
