REGINA – A 16-year-old female was the victim of a stabbing in Regina recently.
Police were called to the 1100 block of Rae Street just before 3 a.m. on May 9, for a report of a weapons offence
"Upon arrival, police located and attended to a 16-year-old female, who had serious injury consistent with a stabbing assault," said RPS in a media release. "EMS arrived and the victim was transported to hospital."
Through police investigation, a suspect was found and arrested on the 1400 block of Robinson Street.
Jamie Lynn Sangwais, 20, faces charges of aggravated assault and failure to comply with a release order.
She made an initial appearance in Regina Provincial Court on May 9, appearing in custody.
The Crown was opposed to Sangwais' release, and he was remanded until tomorrow afternoon in order to seek Legal Aid.
