SASKATOON - A man has died at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon.
Correctional Service Canada said Thomas Heit died on Feb. 17 while in custody. At the time of his death, Heit had been serving an indeterminate sentence since June 26, 1987, for sexual assault and utter threat to cause death or harm.
Heit’s next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the CSC will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
