Man flees during court proceedings: Beauval RCMP launch manhunt

BEAUVAL – Police say 34-year-old Darius Gunn from La Plonge First Nation fled from court during its proceedings on March 20 and now they are searching for him.

Court records show he was to be sentenced and was appearing in Beauval Circuit Court, which is held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. The court staff travel from Meadow Lake Provincial Court for the circuit court. 

Beauval RCMP say Gunn was arrested on May 29, 2023, and charged with multiple assault charges, forcible confinement, and mischief under $5,000.

Investigators believe Darius Gunn may be in, or may travel to, Beauval’s surrounding communities, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
