Melfort RCMP charge man with second-degree murder in woman's death

On March 10, RCMP received a report of a disturbance at a business in Melfort.

RCMP have charged 35-year-old Cody Chubey from Melfort with second-degree murder.

MELFORT – RCMP have charged 35-year-old Cody Chubey from Melfort with second-degree murder in 30-year-old Danielle Dobersheck’s death.

On March 10, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Melfort RCMP received a report of a disturbance at a business in Melfort and when officers arrived, they found an injured woman. Police say there was an altercation between Chubey and Dobersheck.

She was declared deceased at the scene. Her family has been notified and victim services made available to them.

Police say Chubey and Dobersheck were known to each other.

Chubey made his first appearance in Melfort Provincial Court on March 11.
