PRINCE ALBERT – Police have charged three people in connection to an armed robbery on Sept. 8 where a man was shot.
Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) say that a male victim was approached in the 400 block of 13th Street West by two unknown male suspects who robbed him of his property and shot him in the leg.
Michael Fourstar, 20, and Jonathan Napope, 28, have been arrested and police are seeking the third suspect, Skylar Halkett, 19. They are charged with robbery with a firearm, endangering life, and possession of a firearm.
“Given the random nature of the offence, the propensity of violence to a victim that fully cooperated with the suspects’ demands, and the close proximity to a school, police deployed a large number of resources to immediately mobilize and work all investigational avenues,” said Deepan Dasgupta from PAPS.
If anyone has information on Halkett’s whereabouts, police say please do not approach him and contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
At this time, investigators say they don’t believe this incident is related to a shooting that was reported on Sept. 13, and that investigation is still ongoing. The Prince Albert Police Service would like to acknowledge the public for their assistance in providing video surveillance that was critical in advancing this investigation.
Members from the Prince Albert Police Service Proactive Policing Unit (PPU), Crime Reduction Team (CRT), Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT), and Forensic Identification Section all contributed to the investigation. Several hours of video evidence collected from the surrounding area, witness statements and forensic analysis of evidence collected advanced the investigation, say police.
