No charges in truck vs. pedestrian fatality in Regina

Man found by police lying in the street.

REGINA – Update Sept. 11: Police have concluded their investigation into last week's pedestrian fatality with no charges to be laid.

"Officers from our Traffic Safety Unit and Forensic Identification Unit conducted the investigation and concluded the driver of the vehicle was not at fault," said RPS in a media release. "As such, no charges will be laid."

Original Post Sept 8: One man is dead after he was hit by a truck this afternoon.

RPS is currently investigating what happened, but say they were called to the scene just before 1 p.m. in the 1500 block of Seventh Avenue East.

"When they arrived they found a male victim, who appeared to have been struck by a large truck, lying in the roadway," said RPS in a media release. "EMS attended and confirmed the male victim was deceased."

Police closed an area around that portion of Seventh Avenue while they investigate.
