Police make drug bust in Regina

Almost 50 grams of meth seized, three arrested.

REGINA – A joint-forces police operation on Robinson Street led to a drug bust with three people now in custody.

Search warrants were executed on a residence and two vehicles in the 1900 block of Robinson Street on May 25, seeing the involvement of the RPS Crime Reduction Team, patrol officers, the Street Crimes Unit, and Tactical Supposrt.

"The police operation was in relation to an ongoing drug-trafficking investigation," said RPS in a media release. During their search, police seized 46.49 grams of methamphetamine, ammunition, drug trafficking evidence, multiple pieces of stolen identification, edged weapons, and an Airsoft firearm.

John Watkin, 28, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.

Scott MacDonald, 46, is charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Matthew Lerat-Polson, 23, is charged with possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

All three men will make their initial appearances on these charges in Provincial Court on July 13.
