Previously wanted man makes court appearance in Regina

Accused will return to court next week.

REGINA – A man who was previously considered unlawfully at large appeared in Regina Provincial Court today.

Featured in a recent sasktoday.caWanted Wednesday,’ Jonathan Michial Mah, 37, was last seen in Prince Albert. This morning, he made a first appearance on assault and mischief charges.

Court heard that on May 12, Mah is accused of assault causing bodily harm against a woman, and a further charge of mischief under $5,000 by destroying her cell phone. A second assault causing bodily harm charge was dated May 16 against the same victim.

The Crown was opposed to Mah’s release, and asked for a no-contact order with the victim.

Mah stated that he is currently in custody on a parole violation, and is planning to seek a private lawyer to assist in his matter. He will next appear in court on Aug. 9 via video.
