Donna Spilchen charged with murder of William Byblow in Yorkton

YORKTON – Update: Dec. 2: Donna Spilchen, 61, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of William Byblow in Yorkton.

She is remanded in custody and scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Dec. 4, at 9:30 a.m. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate.

Original story: RCMP are working to positively identify a homicide victim and trying to locate 61-year-old Donna Spilchen (Radom) to confirm her safety.

On Nov. 30, at about 9:15 a.m., Yorkton RCMP got a request to do a welfare check at a residence on 6th Avenue North in Yorkton. Officers responded and found a deceased man. Yorkton RCMP secured the scene for further investigation. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating his death, which they consider a homicide.

Spilchen (Radom) is about 5-feet and 120 pounds. She has black hair. RCMP don’t have a photo available at this time.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is asking residents to report all information about her whereabouts immediately.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is also asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity, or captured video surveillance footage, in the area of 6th Avenue North in Yorkton in the early hours of Nov. 30, to contact them.

Police say they are unable to provide additional information about this investigation at this time and will provide updates when available. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, they will notify the public.
