RCMP WEST arrests man in North Battleford in Saskatoon homicide

Two men have been charged with first-degree murder.

SASKATOON – Update: The Saskatoon Police Service wishes to correct that the RCMP's Saskatoon Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) effected the arrest of the 37-year-old wanted man in North Battleford, not Saskatoon.

Original story: Police have charged two men with first-degree murder in the death of a 48-year-old man at a home in the 200 block of Avenue I South on Feb. 17.

On April 3, members of RCMP’s Saskatoon Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) arrested a 37-year-old man in Saskatoon on warrants for breach of probation. After arresting him, Saskatoon Police Service’s Major Crime Section charged him with first-degree murder.

The next day, a 34-year-old man was arrested and also charged with first-degree murder.

Both men appear before a Justice of the Peace Thursday evening.
