Regina woman appears on trafficking, weapons offences

Charges stem from 2022 RPS bust, court hears.

REGINA – One of two people busted for drug trafficking back in 2022 appeared in Regina Provincial Court this morning.

Sherlyne Pelletier, 37, appeared on a number of dated charges - including two for trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl. These charges stem from an operation conducted by the RPS Street Gang Unit on Jan. 29, 2022, which saw a CDSA warrant executed on the 600 block of Garnet Street.

Police seized 40 grams of methamphetamine and 68.23 grams of fentanyl, and weapons including an SKS rifle, a loaded sawed off .22 calibre rifle, and two TASERs.

Pelletier also appeared on new charges from June 23 involving weapons offences. She stands charged with possession of a sawed off shotgun while prohibited, possessing 12-gauge shotgun ammunition while prohibited, breach of a release condition by having firearms ammunition, possession of a prohibited firearm with readily available ammunition, having a firearm without a license, failure to store a firearm safely, and possession of a firearm knowing she did not have a license.

Both the provincial and federal Crown were opposed to Pelletier’s release, and she will seek the assistance of Legal Aid to pursue a bail hearing.

Pelletier’s next court appearance will be on June 30.
