Saskatoon Police Guns & Gangs Unit seizes prohibited weapon, arrests man

A search warrant was executed, at the residence, and investigators located a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit has charged a 25-year-old man with multiple firearms related charges.

On Jan. 26, police received the report of a firearm that had been discharged in the 100 block of 33rd Street West. At around 7 p.m., patrol officers and members of the Guns and Gangs Unit set up a perimeter around a residence, in the area, and a 25-year-old man was arrested without incident.

A search warrant was executed, at the residence, and investigators located a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

The 25-year-old man is charged with discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a prohibited firearm, and several other firearm related charges.
