SASKATOON – A man is facing charges following an evade police incident late Tuesday night.

At approximately 11:10 p.m. on May 21, 2024, police attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle on Circle Drive North near Avenue B North. Upon activation of the police vehicle’s emergency equipment, the vehicle began evading police at a high rate of speed. Officers disengaged from the evade police incident and, as the vehicle fled, positioned themselves to successfully deploy multiple tire deflation devices.

The vehicle continued with deflated tires at low speeds through the city and south onto Highway 219 before becoming stuck on a rural road where officers arrested the driver without further incident. Upon search of the vehicle, officers located and seized $3,665 in cash, an expandable baton, and assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result, a 40-year-old Regina man is facing charges relating to evading police, dangerous driving, operating a vehicle while prohibited, possession of a weapon, and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.
