Trial set for 3 men facing drug trafficking and weapons offences

Prince Albert Police raided a home in the 1900 block of 13 Street West in Prince Albert in September 2022. They located drug packaging materials, including multiple baggies and two functioning digital scales.

PRINCE ALBERT – A trial is set for May 19 in Prince Albert Provincial Court for three men charged with drug trafficking and weapons-related offences.

In September 2022, Modi Lako, 28, of Prince Albert, Yasin Ali, 27, of Edmonton, and Shyrell Nyack, 22, [residence unknown] were arrested following an investigation by Prince Albert Police Service’s Crime Reduction Team.

Police had raided a home in the 1900 block of 13 Street West. During their investigation they seized cocaine, methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, ammunition, and more than $6,000 in cash during their investigation. 

Lako, Ali, and Nyack were all charged with possession of the proceeds of crime, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, careless use of a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
