Two involved in huge drug bust appear in Regina court

Matters adjourned to later date.

REGINA – Two of the 10 people involved in a major drug bust back in May, spanning Western Canada, appeared in Regina Provincial Court this morning.

Mitch L Schoffer, 40, of Moose Jaw and Nikola Galic, 27, of Burnaby, BC both appeared by video on charges related to the police bust. Both men had their matters adjourned to later dates, Galic was denied bail on other charges and his lawyer requested that the matter be adjourned to Aug. 25.

As for Schoffer, the federal Crown was opposed to his release, and his matters will return on July 13.

As previously reported, the operation involved 17 police services executing six search warrants. Arrests were made on May 11 and 12 in Weyburn, Moose Jaw, Vancouver, and Burnaby with 10 people arrested and 54 Criminal Code and CDSA charges laid.

From the drug flow interruption, police seized 3.36 kg of MDMA, 8.95 kg of cocaine, and 28.17 kg of methamphetamine.
