SASKATOON - Two people were stabbed following an altercation on a bus Thursday night.

At around 10:30 p.m. on May 23, police were called to the area of 20th Street West and Avenue N South for a report of a stabbing on a city bus. When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old man suffering from what was believed to be a serious but non-life-threatening stab wound. He was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of his injury.

The continued police investigation determined that an altercation had occurred on the bus between multiple persons of unknown associations to one another resulting in the stabbing and that two of the involved persons had left in an unknown direction. Following a search of the area, officers located a male and female matching the witness’ descriptions walking in the 1400 block of 20th Street West. The 15-year-old female was suffering from what were believed to be multiple serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds. She was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of her injuries.

Members of the Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate.
