MEADOW LAKE – Update: Gagandeep Singh Gill and Balraj Sidhu appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court Thursday morning and were remanded in custody. They are scheduled to appear in Île-à-la-Crosse Circuit Court on Feb. 14 for bail hearings.
Original story: Two female youths were sexually assaulted on Feb. 6 and police have arrested two men from Edmonton.
Meadow Lake RCMP say the sexual assaults occurred at an address on 9 Street West in Meadow Lake.
Gagandeep Singh Gill, 35, and Balraj Sidhu, 31, were each charged with sexual assault. Gill is also charged with failing to comply with undertaking,
They will remain in custody until their scheduled appearance in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Feb. 8.
Meadow Lake RCMP say they continue to investigate.
Thorough and sensitive investigation into reports of sexual based offences is their priority, say Saskatchewan RCMP.
“As part of this investigation – and any other investigation into reports of sexual assaults against children or other vulnerable populations – Saskatchewan RCMP will work to determine if there are additional victims. If this is determined, we will notify the public,” said the RCMP.
