SASKATOON – A 33-year-old Martensville woman arrested by the Saskatoon Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit last week was released on bail after a show cause hearing in Saskatoon Provincial Court Wednesday.

Courtney Dawn Kozak is back in court June 1 to enter a plea and election on 10 drug trafficking and possession related offences and a possession of the proceeds of crime charge.

Her co-accused, 37-year-old Christopher Thomas Godlien of Saskatoon, was remanded in custody after a May 17 appearance and is back in court May 24. He is charged with 10 drug trafficking and possession related offences, 17 firearms related offences, and possession of the proceeds of crime.

SPS say that their investigators became aware of a suspect believed to be trafficking illicit drugs who was also in possession of various guns. Officers conducted surveillance in Saskatoon and Martensville and then on May 12 at approximately 9 p.m., raided a home in the 100 block of Chaparral Boulevard in Martensville.

Police say Godlien tried fleeing but was caught a short distance away with the help of the Canine Unit. He was treated for minor injuries caused by the police dog. Police seized a large amount of methamphetamine and cash on him. Kozak was arrested in the 2100 block of Faithfull Avenue in Saskatoon and had cocaine in her possession, say police.

At the home police found three shotguns, one that was sawed-off, a rifle, ammunition, 463 grams of methamphetamine, 12.46 grams of cocaine, 8.62 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 99 Xanax pills, 68 hydromorphone pills, $2,376 cash, a machete, a folding knife, and an expandable baton. Police also seized a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali and a 2007 Lexus IS350.
