Woman charged in Nathan Piche's death granted bail

Nathan Piche was last seen walking in the Garson Lake area late in the evening of Feb. 12. Five days later his body was found about one kilometre where he was last seen.

MEADOW LAKE – An Alberta woman charged with criminal negligence causing the death of 34-year-old Nathan Piche has been granted bail in La Loche Circuit Court. Erica Herman, 35, is now due back in court April 17 to enter an election.

Her co-accused, Clayton Fontaine, 28, of La Loche, remains in custody. He is charged with criminal negligence causing death, assault of a police officer with a weapon, and assault of a police officer. Fontaine is back in court April 24.

Piche was reported missing to La Loche RCMP on Feb. 14. He was last seen walking in the Garson Lake area late in the evening of Feb. 12. Five days later his body was found about one kilometre where he was last seen.
