Youth appears in court on numerous weapons offences

Police found a can of bear spray and a loaded firearm.

REGINA – A Regina teen is facing weapons charges after an early morning call to police.

Around 2 a.m. this morning, police went to the 500 block of North Cityview Crescent on a call for a person with a firearm.

"Police attended the residence, and observed a can of bear spray, firearm ammunition, and a loaded firearm," said RPS in a media release. "Investigation led to the arrest of one of the occupants in the residence, a 15 year-old male, who was charged with firearm possession."

The youth cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a restricted weapon with ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of a weapon.

The teen made his firs court appearance on these matters this afternoon.
