During the Christmas season, many younger children have a difficult time getting their parents special gifts for Christmas. That’s where the Good Tidings 4 U Christmas gift shop for children finds its purpose.

With a small amount of money, children can make their purchases and there is no hassle.

The idea of the gift shop originated with Linda Shewchuk of Preeceville, who saw the need for a children’s gift shop and then made it happen. She calls the store Good Tidings 4 U.

This year, the gift shop operated on December 9 at the Preeceville School.

This is the 11th year that she has hosted the Christmas store. Her vision since 2004 was to enable the children to play a role in the spirit of gift giving at Christmas. With the help of “numerous elves,” Shewchuk said children experience the opportunity to purchase something special for their mothers and fathers. There’s no hassle and they require only small sums of money.

“Good Tidings 4 U is about ‘paying it forward,’ thus focusing more on giving, caring and sharing, thus bringing joy into people’s lives,” said Shewchuk. “It’s something so simple to do, but offers an everlasting gift by allowing the kids to experience a loving and giving Christmas.”
