There have been a few changes at the skating arena including new ice makers and caretakers, Arlee and Darlene Thideman. The couple has been long-time residents of the community.
“The Preeceville Arena committee is very grateful for the help from numerous members of the community,” said Andrea Tonn. “Special thanks goes out to Arlee and Darlene Thideman, Jordon Dyky, Ashley Ward and others for all the time spent getting our ice in place on short notice.”
The arena has been the site of a variety of activities such as a three-on-three hockey tournament, power skating, free skate sessions and a coaches’ clinic. Hockey and figure skating sessions will be starting shortly.
“The arena board is pleased to announce the arena icemaker contract has been awarded to Arlee Thideman. We look forward to a positive year at the skating arena,” she concluded.
