Residents from Fisher Court in the city were recognized last Wednesday for the successful completion of the ‘Cross Canada Challenge’. Three years ago, Yorkton Housing Authority challenged each Senior Court to walk across Canada. The challenge was to do 15 to 20 minutes of elevating their heart rate each day. It was a symbolic activity, with all six YHA residences taking part. Fisher Court, home to 35 residents created a walking club, with others riding their bicycles, the facility’s stationary bike, aquacize at the Gallagher Centre Water Park and other activities. Fisher Court won the challenge. To mark the success Yorkton Housing Authority, in coordination with the City of Yorkton Community Development, Parks & Recreation unveiled a ‘Hallmark Image’, which will be mounted at the trail head on Logan Green.
