46-year-old Strasbourg man charged with sexual offences involving a minor

RCMP are not releasing the name of the accused to help protect the identity of the youth victim(s).

STRASBOURG —  Southey RCMP say they have charged a 46-year-old Strasbourg man with sexual offences involving a minor.

On Sept. 16, Southey RCMP received a report about suspicious activity occurring at a residence in Strasbourg.

As a result of investigation, a search warrant was executed at the residence and a number of devices were seized. Investigation determined that messages of a sexual nature had been exchanged between an adult male and someone under the age of 16.

A 46-year-old male from Strasbourg was arrested on Sept/. 23 and charged with:

  • Child luring;
  • Invitation to sexual touching;
  • Arranging a sexual offence against a child;
  • Possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking.

At this time, RCMP are not releasing the name of the accused to help protect the identity of the youth victim(s).

The accused was remanded to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Monday, Sept. 25.

Assisting the Southey RCMP Detachment with this ongoing investigation is the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, the Saskatchewan RCMP General Investigation Section and the Saskatchewan RCMP Digital Forensics Services Unit.
