The Town of Wilkie determined they would need to purchase 40 acres in order to develop a regional park. Joseph Sander was asked to let council know how much he would want per acre for his land.
The RM of Round Valley held its first annual spring meeting of ratepayers. Reeve DeRoo presented three resolutions, one of which read "Whereas snow is a problem on winter roads and whereas snow removal is costly to the taxpayer, Therefore be it resolved that we ask this municipality to urge ratepayers to plant trees 150 feet from road centres.”
The Unity United Church women’s group staged a fashion show of wedding gowns of the past 50 years, to celebrate the United Church of Canada’s 50th anniversary.

Although there had been some thought about building a new town office, instead the Town of Unity purchased the entire 2M office building on Railway Avenue, and became landlord to tenants such as the Downtown Medical Clinic and dentist Dr. Daniel Azuelos.
With three consecutive years, or 32,092 hours, without lost time due to injury or illness, Louis Dreyfus’s Dave Kobelsky was able to present the Wilkie library with funds to purchase safety booklets for children. RCMP Cst. Fritz received a donation for the DARE drug awareness program.
Delta Co-op announced they had found a new tenant for the former SAAN store premises. Fields Mini Mart would open a retail location there.
