The committee in charge of the restoration and preservation of the nearly 60-year-old Holy Rosary Church at Reward – Ernie Greter, Fred Guth, Bill Warnock, Frank Ganzer, Victor Delhomeau, Glenn Swarbrick and Rev. Fr. Paul Fiest – were seeking donations and historical information.
McLurg High School held graduation exercises for 85 graduates. Pat Gerlinsky was named Athlete of the year. James Sander was valedictorian. The grads exited the gymnasium to the song, Blowing in the Wind.
Franklin Mann assumed full ownership and operation of the Unity Foodmaster and would operate the store under the name of Unity Tomboy Foods.
Shannon Kraft, Blair Wood and Lloyd Ermantraut of Unity were amongst some 22,000 cyclists attending a Bike for Your Life Safety Rodeo in Regina.

Tramping Lake farmer Mike Jahner reconstructed a sod house in the exact same spot as his grandfather had built the family’s first sod house 100 years ago.
A sold-out crowd greeted the newest inductees onto the Unity Sports Wall of Fame – 10 teams and four individuals. Washington Capital Boyd Gordon attended the event.
St. James CWL made 33 lasagnas for the Wilkie Centennial food booth.
Daryl Ekendrantz of Kerrobert beat Terry Kist in a playoff hole to take the Unity Golf Club men’s open championship.
Twenty members of the Unity Guides and Brownies went to Regina for the Great Centennial Sleepover. Local leaders Doris Beriault and Shirley Parkinson, along with their respective daughters Candace and Zoe, were among those who attended activities in Wascana Park and spent the night at the Tartan Curling Club which housed 1,220 girls from all over Saskatchewan.
