Environment Canada says a multi-day episode of very cold wind chills could end Monday or Tuesday.

As of Monday morning, an arctic air mass continues to bring dangerously cold temperatures to the region. The extreme cold, combined with winds of 15 to 30 km/h, will result in wind chill values ranging from minus 40 to minus 50 at times.

As temperatures increase Monday, the extreme cold warning will be ending for most of southern Manitoba. The extreme cold warning is expected to remain in effect for southwestern Manitoba and southern Saskatchewan for Monday night.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.
