Hunt for construction safety rock stars begins

CCSA awards celebrate individuals who show leadership in the industry and work hard to create safe, healthy workplaces.

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association is looking for rock stars who are making a difference each day on sites across Saskatchewan.

These are the workers who have your back, know their safety stuff, make work a blast and care about ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of the day.

Each year, CCSA awards celebrate individuals who show leadership in the industry and work hard to create safe, healthy workplaces. Eligible nominees are employed by member companies working in residential, commercial and industrial and construction trades.

Criteria for successful nominees:

Safety Leader

• Champions safety in their organization and influences others to build safety culture.

• Provides health and safety training or support to others, including mentoring or coaching.

• Demonstrates leadership in the construction community beyond their organization.

• Uses SCSA services, resources and/or tools to enhance company safety practices. 

Safety Practitioner

• Identifies and shares new safety topics, issues, suggestions, or ideas with their organization.

• Actively contributes to the promotion of a safer and healthier work environment.

• Shows dedication to pursuing continuous education through the SCSA or other sources.
