Lloyd Exhibition Association dishes up a wide-ranging fair experience

For the second year, Running With the Bulls will be a feature of Lloyd Ex Fair.

LLOYDMINSTER — Lloyd Ex Fair begins Wednesday, July 12.

The event kicks off with the Lloyd Ex Fair Parade starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The parade route has been changed, so be sure to check the website for the updated route. Parade Marshall this year is Dr. Nekky Jamal, DD.

Pre-sale tickets for the fair are available only at the Lloyd Mall from June 28 to July 11. Adult (16-64) tickets are $15, students (13-15) $10, Senior (65+) $10, Children (7-12) $5 and 6 and under are free.

Featured for the second year will be the Running with the Bulls event. This will all take place in front of the grandstand with an inner track built at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15. The objective for runners is to be the bravest, most daring and crowd-entertaining runners alongside the bulls. New this year alongside this event will be Calf Scramble and Wild Pony Races for the kids, ages 6-12. Outside there is the outdoor Yard Thrill Show, which will be Pig Racing at three different times every day.

Meadow Croft will be hosting their petting zoo in Country Lane. In addition, they will be offering pony rides during Country Lane for an additional $5 a ride. Sharing the Dick Jones Sales Pavilion will be the Lloyd Storefront which showcases local businesses and their homemade products.

Tom Cochrane is the main entertainment Friday, July 14 in the Culligan Water Building. Tickets are available online and at the Lloyd Ex office for $45 a ticket, this price also includes your gate admission for the performance day only.

In the WLS Convention Centre will be Amberlea Beatty and Terrance B. Fusion talent will be showcased in the Magic Bean Show. The Culligan Water Building Stage is where Birds of Prey will take place as well as Rachel Alejandro on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Organizers say the agricultural program is strong this year with shows like the beef pen show, draft horse shows almost every day of the fair, not to mention team sorting, team roping, gymkhana, and the ever-popular sheep show. New this year are draft horse riding shows. Other attractions include the midway rides and tradeshow.
