Reports have been filed on losses of public money for Jan.1 to March 31.

 

REGINA - The most recent quarterly reports on losses of public money within government ministries and Crown corporations has been filed, and for the most part there are not many major losses to report.

The reports were tabled to their respective committees for the period Jan. 1 to March 31, 2024. Here are the highlights:

The Provincial Comptroller has tabled a nil report with the Public Accounts Committee for the fourth quarter of 2023-24.

The Crown Investments Corporation has tabled a report including two losses with the Crown and Central Agencies Committee for the fourth quarter.

The Ministry of Health is reporting losses by Saskatchewan Health Authority Athabasca Health Authority and Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. One confirmed reportable loss was reported by the SHA to the Ministry of Health in the fourth quarter: funds from an online purchase made by an SHA employee with an SHA corporate credit card were diverted by an external party, resulting in a loss of $1,113. 

The purchase made by the SHA employee was determined to be legitimate, and the employee is not responsible for this loss. 

The most recent quarterly report on losses within Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the regional colleges has been tabled covering Jan.1 to March 31. The Ministry of Advanced Education is confirming no losses of money or property at Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the regional colleges due to fraud or similar illegal acts by employees, suppliers, or contractors.
