A special meeting will be held City Hall in Regina on Nov. 24.

REGINA - Regina city council is set to hold a special meeting Friday afternoon to appoint new voting directors to the Regina Exhibition Association Ltd. board.

The meeting comes on the heels of Wednesday's council decision to remove the voting membership of the REAL board, followed by the resignation en masse of the entire board following that vote.

The agenda at Wednesday's special meeting focuses on the city manager's report on the REAL board, which calls for amendments to the Unanimous Membership agreement respecting REAL to decrease of the minimum size of the board from nine to six and to decrease the minimum voting directors from seven to three.

The report also proposes the appointment of five individuals to the board: City Manager Niki Anderson, Executive director of financial strategy and sustainability Barry Lacey, Ly Pham, Jennifer Johnson and Jeff May. Their appointments would run from Nov. 24, 2023 until July 31, 2024.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at City Hall.
