Update: Man dies in Tessier collision

TESSIER — Update: One man has died in a collision on Highway 7 west of Tessier on Sept. 11.

Rosetown RCMP responded to the call around 1:20 p.m. after the semi and SUV had collided.

"The driver of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene," said RCMP in a media release. "He has been identified as a 75-year-old male from Medicine Hat."

The passenger in the SUV was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and family has been notified. The driver of the semi reported minor injuries as a result of the crash.

RCMP continue to investigate the collision.

Original Report: Rosetown RCMP are currently responding to the report of a serious collision on Highway 7, approximately one kilometre southwest of Tessier.

Traffic is being re-routed for an undetermined amount of time. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and to follow traffic restrictions.
