Saskatoon man arrested for threatening with a knife

SASKATOON — A 20-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of assault with a weapon after reportedly threatening people with a knife.

At approximately 11:56 p.m., July 29, patrol officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Underhill Way for a report of a man brandishing a knife. Upon arrival, police say, they located the non-compliant suspect, the man reached for a weapon while police were attempting an arrest and, as a result, they successfully deployed a conducted energy weapon. The man was taken into custody shortly thereafter. He was medically assessed and cleared by paramedics in detention.

The deployment of the CEW will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
