Two rural structure fires near Cut Knife ruled as non-suspicious

There was no entrapment or injuries at either fire and they have been deemed accidental.

Cut Knife Report – April 27 to May 4

Cut Knife RCMP received 80 calls for service between April 27 to May 4. These files included well-being checks, reports of disturbances, reports of traffic offences, mischief, assaults, sexual assaults, breaches of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Acts, theft of vehicles, possession of firearms, suspicious persons, animal calls, child abuse, Liquor Acts, Excise Acts and assisting other agencies.

Notable files include:

RCMP were called to two structure fires this week in the rural area of Cut Knife. There was no entrapment or injury at either of the sites. It appears that the fires were non-suspicious and were accidental.

RCMP had two reports of missing females this week. Media releases were made and were a key help in locating the individuals.

In the late hours of May 4, RCMP received a report of a male with a firearm threatening others in a residence. RCMP attended and took one male into custody and secured the firearm. The male is being held for court.

Members attended five Mental Health Act calls.

Ten traffic stops were made, resulting in speeding tickets, warnings, and roadside suspensions.

Cut Knife RCMP hosted a “Work out with a Cop” day on May 8 at the Cut Knife RCMP detachment.

 

Unity Report - April 29 to May 5

RCMP received a complaint of theft, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a complaint of trespassing.  Members spoke to the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning.

Members received a request to keep the peace while an individual retrieved property from a residence.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint.  Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

Police received a complaint of theft.  This matter is still under investigation.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in a rural area near Unity.  Reported for information purposes.

Members spoke to an individual regarding a property issue.

RCMP conducted a well-being check at the request of a concerned citizen.

Police received a complaint of fraud, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

There were also two traffic complaints.

 

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint.  Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

Members received a report of a two-vehicle collision near Landis.  There were no injuries and no charges were laid.

Police received a Mental Health Act complaint.  Members transported the subject of complaint to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.

Members acted as mediators in a family dispute.

RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats.  Members spoke to the complainant who requested no further action be taken.

A 41-year-old female from Wilkie was charged with resisting a Peace Officer and disturbing the peace after members received a complaint of public intoxication.

There were also four traffic complaints and one false alarm.

 

Macklin Report

RCMP received a complaint of a structure fire in a rural area near Macklin.  The fire was extinguished by Macklin Fire Department and was not suspicious in nature.

There was also one traffic complaint and one false alarm.
