Serdachny's overtime goal lifts Canada past U.S. 3-2 in women's Rivalry Series

LOS ANGELES — Danielle Serdachny's goal at 2:16 of overtime on Monday night gave Canada a 3-2 victory over the United States in the fifth game of the Rivalry Series.

With the win at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Canadian women's team trimmed the series deficit to 3-2. Laura Stacey and Sarah Fillier also scored for Canada, while Cayla Barnes and Taylor Heise scored for the U.S., who outshot Canada 34-28.

The U.S. led 1-0 after the first period and Canada took a 2-1 lead into the third.

Canada went 1-for-3 on the power play, while the U.S. was 0-for-1.

Four of the five games in the series have been decided by one goal. The U.S. won Game 3 by a 4-2 score.
