The Yorkton Xerox Bantam AA Terriers of the SBAAHL came out on top of their series in the second round of playoffs.

The Xerox Terriers got their bye straight to the second round because of their first-place finish in the South Division of their league of the regular season.

The second round was played against the Weyburn Crescent Point Wings, and the Xerox Terriers swept the best-of-three series with two wins.

The first game was played on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the Farrell Agencies Arena in Yorkton. Although it was a slow start for the Xerox Terriers, their calm and collected style on the ice worked for them, as it has all season. The final score was 6-3 for Yorkton, and the shot clock read 37-34, also in favour of Yorkton.

Yorkton’s goals came from Ryder Korczak (2), Josh Peppler, Tanner Hoffman, Austin Dycer and Jackson Berezowski.

Game two of the series was played on Saturday, Feb. 25 in Weyburn, and it was another big win for the Xerox Terriers with a final score of 9-2.

It was a huge six-point game (three goals, three assists) for forward Jackson Berezowski, who led the league in points after the regular season.

A big game for Ryder Korczak as well, who came away with five points (two goals, three assists).

Massen Ziola racked up four points from one goal and three assists.

Yorkton’s other goals came from Anthony Roebuck, Rhys Maksimow and Tanner Hoffman.

The two wins means there’s no need for a third game, so the Xerox Terriers had a few days of relaxation before the third round starts against the Prairie Storm. The first game is on Wednesday, March 1 at the Farrell Agencies Arena. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m.
