REGINA – The Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) board of directors has elected Ian Boxall, Representative for RM of Connaught No. 457, as president.

The election was made at a general meeting in Regina Jan. 18. Boxall farms near Tisdale with his family.

Bill Prybylski and Scott Owens will serve as vice-presidents.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to be elected president of APAS,” Boxall said. “I know I have the full support of APAS … as we move forward with advocating for some of the best producers in the world right here in Saskatchewan.”

According to an APAS press release, some of the early priorities for the new executive include the Next Policy Framework Task Force, rural connectivity, continued drought response and advocacy on behalf of farmers dealing with grain contracts from last year’s drought.
