On June 22 at approximately 2 a.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a shooting on Waterhen Lake First Nation.
WATERHEN LAKE FIRST NATION - Meadow Lake RCMP are asking the public to report sightings of two wanted men.
On June 22 at approximately 2 a.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a shooting on Waterhen Lake First Nation.
The investigation determined an altercation occurred between a group of individuals. A firearm was discharged, injuring a man. The man was treated in the hospital for injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
As a result of the continued investigation, 27-year-old Christopher Ernest, from Waterhen Lake First Nation, is charged with:
- one count, carry a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
- one count, discharge firearm with intent.
Brandon McCallum, 23, from Canoe Lake Cree First Nation, is charged with:
- one count, carry a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
- one count, assault with a weapon.
Warrants have been issued for their arrests and Meadow Lake RCMP are actively working to locate them.
Christopher Ernest is described as approximately 6’ tall and 165 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. A photo of him is shown.
Brandon McCallum is described as approximately 6’ tall and 220 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of writing and a feather on his left hand, as well as a skull and a knife on his left arm. A photo of him is shown.
