RCMP lay charges in death of Sandy Bay man

Jacob Sewap was located injured after the report of an assault in late December, 2020. He died as a result of his injuries in early January 2021.

Lenny Sinclair of Sandy Bay has been charged in the death of a fellow Sandy Bay resident, Jacob Sewap.

SANDY BAY - As a result of continued investigation by Prince Albert General Investigation Section, Lenny Sinclair, 25, from Sandy Bay, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, section 235(1) of the Criminal Code, in relation to the death of 54-year-old Jacob Sewap from Sandy Bay.

Jacob Sewap was located injured after police responded to a report of an assault at a residence in Sandy Bay in late December, 2020. He died as a result of his injuries in early January 2021. Investigators have been working on this investigation since that time.

Lenny was arrested in Pelican Narrows on Oct. 21, 2021. He will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday, Oct. 25.
