The superintendent of student services at Living Sky School Division has received a prestigious provincial honour. Nancy Schultz was selected as the 2019 Saskatchewan Caring Leadership Award recipient.

Weyburn RCMP are currently on scene at a gas station in Stoughton to investigate the report of a pedestrian versus semi-truck collision that occurred at approximately 7 a.m. this morning. One woman is deceased as a result of the collision.

On Sept. 28, just after midnight, the La Ronge RCMP were called to a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a taxi cab on Highway 2 near the bingo hall in La Ronge.

The season is under way for the Battlefords Sharks in female midget AAA hockey. But it could have been better for the Sharks as they opened regular season play in Gull Lake against the Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats.

While the junior North Stars are off to a hot start to their SJHL season, the AAA midget Battlefords Stars are going in the opposite direction. The Stars are off to a 0-4 start, losing all of their contests on the road.
