SPIRITWOOD — Spiritwood RCMP are investigating attempted fraud by a young woman at three local businesses Wednesday, Dec. 16. According to police, the business described the actions of a woman, estimated to be about 19 years old, as suspicious.

The City of North Battleford is throwing its backing behind a bid to land the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games. Council voted to pass a resolution to move forward with a bid application, which needs to be in by Jan. 11.

North Battleford city council moved swiftly Monday to clamp down on panhandling activities in the community. A new panhandling bylaw was introduced at Monday’s council meeting and passed in three readings.
