Another pandemic Parliament session has wrapped up for Battlefords-Lloydminster MP Rosemarie Falk. Falk is back in the riding full time for the summer break.

RCMP report that on July 6 at approximately 2:15 p.m., Punnichy RCMP responded to a report of a man armed with a rifle and making threats at Gordon First Nation.

Two people accused of killing Damian Moosomin had court appearances today. Tye Partridge from Moosomin First Nation and Jannay Blackbird from Saulteaux First Nation are both charged with first-degree murder in 20-year-old Moosomin’s death.

A trial for an Alberta man charged with drug trafficking offences by the Battlefords RCMP didn’t proceed today after he changed how he wants to be tried.

On Sunday, July 4, 2021, around 11:20 p.m., a woman was found unresponsive while being held at the Sandy Bay RCMP Detachment. The woman had been taken into custody earlier that evening at approximately 8:20 p.m.

From the province: The number of confirmed cases of the Delta variant has increased significantly in the last two weeks. The Delta variant is assumed to be 1.5 times more transmissible and twice as virulent as the Alpha variant.

One new death is being reported Tuesday in the North West in the provincial government’s COVID-19 report. The death was of a person in the 30-39 age group from the North West zone.
