Two people accused of killing Damian Moosomin had court appearances today. Tye Partridge from Moosomin First Nation and Jannay Blackbird from Saulteaux First Nation are both charged with first-degree murder in 20-year-old Moosomin’s death.

A trial for an Alberta man charged with drug trafficking offences by the Battlefords RCMP didn’t proceed today after he changed how he wants to be tried.

On Sunday, July 4, 2021, around 11:20 p.m., a woman was found unresponsive while being held at the Sandy Bay RCMP Detachment. The woman had been taken into custody earlier that evening at approximately 8:20 p.m.

From the province: The number of confirmed cases of the Delta variant has increased significantly in the last two weeks. The Delta variant is assumed to be 1.5 times more transmissible and twice as virulent as the Alpha variant.

One new death is being reported Tuesday in the North West in the provincial government’s COVID-19 report. The death was of a person in the 30-39 age group from the North West zone.

The date of the upcoming meeting has been corrected. Ten members of the North Battleford Action Now board of directors met June 21. The board is working to ensure the club building is taken care of and to keep members and visitors safe at the hall.

Vaccines Reported An additional 8,348 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,233,534. Over half a million Saskatchewan residents are now fully vaccinated.
