Mrs. Agnes Helen Lowe (nee Greuel), 92 years of St. Michael's Haven, Cudworth and formerly of Bruno, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt.

Mrs. Agnes Helen Lowe (nee Greuel), 92 years of St. Michael's Haven, Cudworth and formerly of Bruno, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt. Agnes was born on September 8, 1918 in the Bruno district to John and Margaret (nee Koffing) Greuel. She grew up in the area, attending Kildrum School. Following her education, Agnes worked in the area for families, helping them with domestic duties. On March 1, 1943, she married Lawrence Lowe in St. Bruno R.C. Church in Bruno. They farmed in the Peterson area where they raised a family of six children, three boys and three girls. When Lawrence died in 1975, she moved to Edmonton for a few years and worked as a second cook on the oil rigs. In 1979, Agnes moved to Prairie View Enriched Housing in Bruno where she lived until just a little over a year ago, when she moved to St. Michael's Haven in Cudworth. Agnes loved to cook for others, her home was always open to others and many recipes were shared over the years. She also enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing and gardening. She was a member of the CWL when they lived in Peterson. Agnes enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to be able to travel to Alaska, Illinois and Ontario, but her favourite destinations were always to visit her family. Agnes will be lovingly remembered by her six children, 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren: ROBERT (Alice) Lowe of Edmonton, AB and family Jason (Kim ) Lowe and children Matthew and Arden, Tanna-Lynn (Jim) Giroux and children Calli and Macy, and Clayton Lowe; GLORIA (Gordon) Nystrom of Port Coquitlam, BC and family Kurt Nystrom, Tammy Nystrom (Steve Blake) and son Connor, and Keith (Martina) Nystrom and son Sam; GAIL (Dennis) Kerslake of Yale, BC and family Cindy Wertz and children Jessie, Kayla, Dillon and Kelly and Robbie (Tracy) Cecka and children Harley and Hunter; GLEN (Sandra) Lowe of St. Albert, AB and family Cameron (Shawna) Lowe and children Jonathon, Ryan, Allie and Dylan and Michelle (Steve) Blake and children Breanna, Easton and Justin; LYNN Bennett of Vancouver, BC and family Mary Lori Bennett and Mitchell Bennett; and MURRAY (Lori) Lowe of Saskatoon, SK and family Nevin Lowe and Megan Lowe; one brother, Alphonse (Phyllis) Greuel of Bruno; one sister, Christina (Vern) Russell of Humboldt; one brother-in-law, Walter Fowler of Weyburn and numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Greuel; husband, Lawrence Lowe; two sisters, Clara (John) Wilkie and Irene Fowler; one brother, Hubert (Yvonne) Greuel and by members of the Lowe family. The Prayer Service for Agnes was held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno. A scripture reading was shared by, Bernadette Greuel and words of remembrance were given by, Alice Lowe. The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno, celebrated by Fr. Joe Ackerman, OSB. Others taking part in the mass were: music ministry, St. Bruno Choir with organist, Denise Krentz, cross bearer, Robert Lowe, scripture readers, Gail Kerslake and Gloria Nystrom, intentions, Agnes's children, gift bearers, Glen Lowe and Murray Lowe and memorial table attendants, Myrna Krentz and Marie Meyer. An honor guard was formed by the St. Bruno CWL. Honorary Pallbearers were "all those who shared in Agnes' life." Pallbearers were: Jim Giroux, Cameron Lowe, Jason Lowe, Megan Lowe, Nevin Lowe and Cindy Wertz. Interment followed in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Cemetery, Peterson. Memorial Donations in Agnes' memory may be directed to Prairie View Enriched Housing or Kinsmen Telemiracle. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt, SK.
