Al Breker passed away peacefully on February 6, 2012 at Humboldt Hospital with family at his side. Al will be dearly missed by Doris, his loving wife of 61 years, 4 children; James (Shirley), Lawrence (Ross), Vince, Donna (Kerry) Holaday; 4 grandchildren; Jill, Evan (Michelle), Brendan (Andrea), Jared, and many family and friends. Throughout his early years, Al had a love of farm life, and especially enjoyed working with his team of horses. In 1950, he married the love of his life, Doris Dauk, from Annaheim. During this time he worked as a brush cutter and a wheat farmer. He also worked for his brother Fritz in the manufacturing of church furniture. In 1960 Al bought a small grocery store in Englefeld, and after several years he purchased a larger grocery store in Watson and moved his family to this new location. In 1969 he went into sales in farm equipment, and finished his career with Schulte Industries at the age of 72. Throughout his adult years and into retirement he enjoyed winemaking and woodworking, both were enjoyed by many. He built projects ranging from purple martin houses to deck furniture. He and Doris enjoyed friends and family at home in Watson in the winters and spent summers at their "2nd home" at Greenwater Lake. You could always find Al and Doris around their campfire, any time of day, surrounded by many friends, young and old. The Funeral Mass for Al was celebrated from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Watson, SK on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Darryl Millette as Celebrant. The interment followed in the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
